the Nile Daniel Carl Bildt , (born the July 15th 1949 with Halmstad in the province of Halland), is a Politician Swedish. Chief of the conservative party ( Moderaterna , the moderate ones) of 1986 with 1999. Prime Minister of the Sweden of 1991 with 1994. Swedish Minister for the Foreign affairs since the October 6th 2006.

Biography

Having lost the elections of 1994, Carl Bildt turned to the international scene. In 1995, it was named special correspondent of the European Union in Bosnia-Herzégovine and of 1995 with 1997 was High representative for Bosnia and Herzégovine. Of 1999 with 2001, he was the special correspondent of the general secretary of UNO in the Balkans.

Member of the Trilateral Commission since 1998. Currently president of Kreab Group, Nordic Venture Network and of Teleoptimering AB. In Sweden he is director not-executive of Vostok Nafta, Lundin Petroleum, HiQ and of Öhmans. In the United States he is administrator of the RAND Corporation, directing not-executive of Legg Mason and member of International Advisory Board of CFR since 2003 and of The Project one Transitional Democracies. In the field of the international public policy, he is member of the Center for European Reform, of the international counsel of the International institute of Strategic studies (IISS) based in London, administrator of the European Policy Institute, the Institut Aspen Italy, the Friends of Europe and the New Eurasia Foundation, member of the leading committee of the Russian magazine Global Affairs , member of the Board of trustees of the Carnegie Moscow Center. He was invited to the annual conference of the group of Bilderberg into 1996,1997,1999,2000 and 2006.

He is commander of the Légion of honor.
