Carignan (Quebec)
Carignan is a pastoral small town of the bank-south of Montreal which surrounds the town of Chambly in the Montérégie.
It is made up of small urban small islands surrounded by arable lands where one finds there mainly corn, corn and soya. As regards the name of the city, the toponym comes from famous the Régiment of Carignan-Salt boxes, that is to say 24 companies sent in News-France to defend the colony.
As regards gentilé, Carignanois is Carignano, of an Italian city of the Province of Turin. The C-W communication and the pronunciation were francized.
