Card-indexing Michel

Michel Card-indexing is an academic French, born the October 28th 1941.

Assistant of Georges Canguilhem with the Faculty of Arts of Paris (1966), Lecturer then University lecturer with the University of Paris I, then Professor at the University of Nanterre (1994).

Since 1998 Professor d' Histoire of modern philosophy to the University of Paris-Sorbonne, and since 2005, Director of the UFR of Philosophy & Sociology.

Its lesson and its work concern the history of the philosophy (Métaphysique, theory of knowledge) of XVIIe and XVIIIe century, mainly Leibniz and Kant.

With chaired, of 2001 to 2005 the Group of expert for the school programs of philosophy. Named at this station by the Minister Jack Lang to untie the crisis caused by the attempt to impose a program rejected by the majority of the professors of philosophy of the colleges, Card-indexing Michel was confirmed in his functions in 2002 by Luc Ferry. The taught programs of philosophy from now on final classes result from the work thus concluded.

It supported, at the time of the presidential elections of 2002, the candidature of Jean-Pierre Chevènement.

It Co-directs (with Jean-Luc Marion) the Center of Cartesian Studies.
