Carcaixent
Carcaixent ( Castilian Carcagente in ) is a municipality of the autonomous Communauté of Valence (Spain), located in the Comarque of the Ribera Alta. Carcaixent has 21.753 inhabitants (2006).

The municipal territory of Carcaixent is close to that of the following communes: Alberic, Alzira, Benifairó of Valldigna, Benimuslem, Xàtiva, Pobla Llarga, Rafelguaraf, Simat de Valldigna and Villanueva de Castellón, all located in the Province of Valence.

Demography
Carcaixent has 21.753 living (2006). According to this last census, 7,35% of its population are of foreign nationality.
Economy
Agriculture was the most important activity up to one recent period, based on the monoculture and the trade of orange (since the XVIII° century). But as from the Sixties of last century, a great crisis occurred and agriculture entered during one time of recession. One can say that Carcaixent is currently in a phase of transformation.
With regard to industry, this secondary industry is mainly dedicated to the transformation of citrus fruits. There exists also an textile industry, of manufacture of furniture, etc
