Carboréduction
The carboréduction is a method of reduction metals very much used in Métallurgie. It makes it possible to extract the Métaux from their Oxyde S in the presence of coke, at high temperature.
Three metals in particular utilize a reaction of carboréduction in the process of their industrial production:
- the Extraction of zinc starting from zinc oxide takes place towards 1300°C according to the total reaction:
-
the manufacture of the Fonte is carried out in the blast furnaces starting from the ores of Fer, towards 1000°C:
-
the Silicium is also extracted from the Silice to higher temperatures with 2000°C according to:
According to the temperature the reducing agent is the Carbon monoxide CO or the Carbone C. the reactions are more complex than those indicated above, they in particular utilize the balance of Boudouard:
The industrial activity related to the carboréduction of metals generates many Carbon dioxide CO, which is a Gaz with greenhouse effect and takes part in the Climate warming.
