Caraffa di Catanzaro is a common Italian of the Province of Catanzaro in the area Calabria in Italy.

History

The commune shelters a strong community Arbëresh, Albanian installed here at the 15th century, fleeing the Othoman advance . These Albanian kept a strong identity, always speaking their language, the Arbërisht. In this dialect, Albanian tinted of Italian, the village names Garafa .
