Captain Hollywood Project was a group of eurodance originating in Germany, founded beginning 1991 by the ex-rappor of Twenty 4 Seven Tony Dawson-Harrison, with the producers Thorsten Adler, Michael Eisele and Thomas Keil.

Biography

Captain Hollywood, from its true name Tony Dawnson-Harrison, passed his childhood in suburbs of New York. It is only one year old when his/her mother dies. His/her father will only leave it and end up giving up it. He is then placed with his sister in an orphanage of Detroit during 2 years. He engages in the army at the age of 16 years and share for Frankfurt in Germany. But it will leave its profession to be devoted to its passions which are the dance and the music.

At the beginning of the Years 1990, it is noticed for its talents of dancer and its personality, wanting to conquer the continent of Europe… It begins its career as a rappor and a dancer in a group Dutch called Twenty 4 Seven. But Tony has other projects and it leaves the formation in 1991. It is into 1993 that Captain Hollywood is success with the explosion of the eurodance. It is accompanied by the Nina singer and some chorus-singers. One retains especially group individual the More And More , which turned in all the discotheques and which was classified number 1 in Germany during 4 weeks, and Only With You , placed well in the European classifications.

The first album of the group, Coils Is Not Sex , left in 1993, will run out with 400.000 specimens, in addition to the sales of other individual like All I Want and Impossible . The group returns in 1995 and will leave a second album, Animal Gold Human , including one new extract, Flying High , once again accommodated very well on the tracks of dance and who receives a reward with the Dances d' Or of Cannes. The other titles Find Another Way and The Way Love Is confirm also the success of the group.

The following year, will leave a third album, The Afterparty , which will pass unperceived in spite of the success of the titles Over And Over and Love And Pain . Then, Tony and his group blow themselves little by little to end up disappearing from the topicality of the music.

Before launching out in his musical career, Tony had already worked in choreography, for artists such as Kim Wilde and LaToya Jackson, inter alia. In spite of ten tubes which made move in the years 1990, Captain Hollywood Project remains one of the great forgotten groups of the history of the eurodance.

In 2001, Captain Hollywood reappears in solo, with a title entitled Danger Sign . It had already an album with its credit, Do That Thang , since the whole beginning of the year 90. In 2003, it is invited to a project named Boom Box and creates a title, You Are has Superstar . Then it meets the D.J. Murphy Brown and begins again celebrates it Axel F. , credits of the film the Cop of Beverly Hills .
