Captain EO

Captain Eo or Captain EO is a closed attraction of the Disney park. It was a futuristic film in 3D with in the high-speed motorboat Michael Jackson.

The film was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and was produced by George Lucas. The music was written by James Horner and includes/understands two songs of Michael Jackson, (" We Are Young stag To Change The World" and " Another Leaves Me" Off;). The character of the Supreme Leader was played by Anjelica Huston. The film lasted 17 minutes but its cost was estimated between 17 and 30 million $. Captain EO was at its exit the film expensive ever produced according to the base of the price at the minute.

History

The name Eo comes from the Greek divinity Éos of the dawn which opens the day with its “fingers of pink”.

The film tells the history of captain EO (Michael Jackson) and the crew of his spaceship on mission to offer a gift to a malicious extraterrestrial queen called Supreme Leader . This queen resembles a xenomorphic queen much of the films Alien .

Captain EO then declares with the creature that it is able to see the beauty hidden in her and that the key to see it is a song. She refuses to hear the song and its guards precipitate on the crew. The crew transforms itself into musical instruments or musicians. Thanks to a “musical ray”, Eo transforms the guards (close to the Storm troopers of Star wars ) into dancers who help Eo then. The “power” of the song ends up transforming the creature into a pretty woman and her cave in a peaceful Greek temple.

A reason of the replacement of Captain EO?

Many people, presses included/understood, evoked during closings of attractions Captain EO which the reason first would have been a disagreement between Michael Jackson and the Walt Disney Company. The British press thus evoked non-payment by the star of the hotel expenses to the hotel Disneyland of Disneyland Resort Paris. Michael Jackson would have called upon for her defense which it brought to Disney money with attraction Captain Eo.
