Captain Beefheart , from its true name Gift Van Vliet , was born the January 15th 1941 in Glendale (California). It is a Chanteur and American painter .

Biography

It is at the University of Antelope Valley that it meets Frank Zappa where they play together in various groups: " The Omens" , " The Blackouts" then " The Soots".
It is only in 1964 qu ' it forms its Magic Band , with which (and with the liking of ceaseless a turnover in the composition of the group) it will work out until the end of the Seventies of the albums become worships as Safe ace Milk (1967) and especially Trout Mask Replica (1969), pot-rotted of an incalculable number of kinds and which to date remains one of the monuments of the experimental music américaine.
