Caprica
Caprica is a fictitious planet in the televised series Galactica and Battlestar Galactica .
Outline
Caprica is destroyed at the beginning of the history of each of the two series at the time of a furtive attack by the cylons. Caprica is represented like a planet similar to the Earth in the reinvented series, and is the only colony seen until now in the series.
Galactica
In the original series, Caprica is regarded as pertaining to the group of “internal planets”.Caprica contains inter alia the towns of Caprica city and Umbra .
Battlestar Galactica
The episodes of the reinvented series depict what occur to planet and some human survivors remained on Caprica, following the attack. With time, the green and luxuriant aspect of planet changes slowly for brown of dust whereas the repercussions of the atomic attack start to destroy the environment. Seen surface, the blue sky of Caprica becomes orange misty. The human survivors face the threats at the same time of radiation and with the attempts at occupation of planet by let us cylons. The latter give up finally Caprica, in agreement with a change of their principal goals.The capital of Caprica and the Twelve Colonies of Kobol is Caprica City. One sees another city on Caprica, Delphes, which contains the Museum of the Colonies.
Caprica was the world dominating of the Twelve Colonies, and it is the center of the culture, sciences and technologies and the government. But the prominence and the great richness of Caprica made it unpopular near the least developed poorest colonies and: those saw the capricans snobs and élitistes.
During its escape, the fleet of human refugees, under the escore of the Galactica , discovers a new world to be colonized and calls it “New Caprica”.
