Cape of Agde

The Cape of Agde is a Seaside resort of the Commune Frenchwoman of Agde (Herault). It is bathed by the Mediterranean.

It is developed around a port of pleasure and of marina S. an amusement park, Aqualand, ensures the diversification of the activities of bathe. In the interior, wood accommodate sports activities (Tennis, Golf).

One of its characteristics is its center of photogravure-tourism which corresponds at a naturist whole district . It is about the one of the most important naturist sites of the world in surface.

Like the majority of the stations of the Herault, the Cape of Agde is well connected to the highway network and highway.

History

the site of the Cape of Agde was a marsh, separated from the sea by broad sand beaches, in the medium of which advanced the rock headland having given its name to the station. Only some houses built on the coast were present,
In the Années 1960, the Gouvernement decides to develop tourism in the Languedoc,
Constitution of a company of mixed economy, Sebli, which must be given the responsability to develop the station,

the port begins its marketing activity with Port St Martin,

the boat-walks make their appearance,
last constructions are the district of the Email of Rochelongue which makes that the Cape of Agde is now contiguous with Rochelongue.
the peninsula opposite the Island of the Fishermen, in full heart of the Cape of Agde and made up of marinas, was entirely rebuilt.

Demonstrations

Each year, the 1ier weekend of September is the occasion of a large gathering of motor bikes Harley-Davidson organized by the association of the Brescoudos
Every December 31st of each year takes place, on the beach of the Naturist Village, the " last bath of the année" , event impossible to circumvent of the life agathoise, where many naturists and sympathizers bathe naked in a sea not always very hot.
the Union of the Joint owners of the Naturist District (USCQN) organizes each summer in the enclosure of the Naturist Village, at the end of popular holiday, June, naturist and citizen, with meal and ball. This event joins together, since its creation in 2004, approximately 400 people.
