Capcir

The Capcir is a historical and geographical area the Eastern Pyrenees, in France. It was attached to France by the Traité of the Pyrenees. Its territory corresponds roughly to the very high valley of the Aude.

Capcir is on a plate located with 1500 meters of altitude on average and allows the bond between the high valley of the Aude and the Cerdagne, Frenchwoman and Spanish. This canton, a long time rural, developed considerably since forty years because of its tourist attraction. Capcir has two nicknames: the small Siberia or the small Canada . That gives an idea of the climate which can prevail there sometimes the Hiver.
