Canton of Soleure

The canton of Soleure (in German ) is a Swiss Canton.

Geography

The canton of Soleure is located in the North-West of the Suisse. Its southern and western border is bordered by the Canton of Bern, in north by the Canton of Basle-Countryside and in the east not that of Argovie. For reasons history, two of the districts are Enclave S located along the French border .

The grounds of the canton are drained by the river Aar and its affluents. Located on the Swiss Plate, the landscape mainly flat is formed of the alluvial plain of Aar.

The total surface area of the canton is of 791 km ².
