Canton of Seichamps

The canton of Seichamps is a administrative division French located in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle and the area Lorraine.

Geography

This canton is organized around Seichamps in the Arrondissement of Nancy. Its altitude varies from 195 m (Moncel-on-Pail) to 307 m (Sornéville) for an average altitude of 237 Mr.

History

Mazerulles, Moncel-on-Pail and Sornéville is old communes of the Castle-Saline Canton. Remained French following the Treated of Frankfurt of 1871, they were then attached, like the other communes of the current canton, with the Canton of Nancy-Is.

They then belonged to the canton of Nancy-South in 1879, then with the canton of Saint-max in 1973. The canton of Seichamps was created on February 21st, 1997 by division of the Canton of Saint-max.
