Canton of Schwytz

The canton of Schwytz or Schwyz (in German ) is a Swiss Canton.

The orthography Schwytz corresponds to the German pronunciation. The two orthographies meet in French. The Guide of the French Typographer uses Schwytz , the Swiss Constitution in French uses Schwyz .

History

  • Between 1798 and 1803, it belongs to the Canton of Linth
  • Schwyz founds the Suisse in 1291, with Uri and Unterwald.

Geography

The canton of Schwytz is in Suisse power station, between the Lac of Zoug, the Lac of the Four Cantons and the Lake Zurich.

It is bordering on the cantons of Uri, of Glaris, Saint-Gall, Zurich, Zoug and Lucerne.
