History

The canton of Savigny-the-Temple was creates by the decree of the October 28th 1975 starting from the Canton of Melun-North. In 1991, it has itself be amputee of its 5 common Southerners, Cesson, Green-Saint-Denis, the Mée-on-Seine, Boissise-the-Bertrand and Boissettes by decree of by decree of February 27th, with the creation of the Canton of the Mée-on-Seine.
