History

The communes listed above originally formed part of the canton of Saales before the division of this one between France and the Germany on May 18th 1871. They were then constituted in one of the smallest cantons of France.

In March 1982, the attempt at establishment of Lionel Stoléru fails of little: its local adversary Arnould de Lesseux beats it of two votes!
