Geography

The canton of Olargues is a vast territory of 13 communes. It extends from Espinouse to the wine plain. It is located in the zone of medium mountains of High Languedoc thus forming the first buttresses of the Massif Central. The canton located in the back Biterrois country forms with the cantons close the entity known as of the " tops cantons" of Herault.

Territory

the canton is crossed by the Agoût river in North (Agoût occurs on the commune of Cambon and Salvergues). The valley is sprinkled with West in Is by Jaur which crosses Prémian, St Etienne d' Albagnan, St Vincent d' Olargues (Julio), Olargues and Mons Trivalle for jetter in Orb with Tarassac. Orb after having crossed Colombières on Orb, Mons Trivalle joined Vieussan and Roquebrun to be plunged in the Mediterranean in Valras.

The canton with the characteristic to have on its territory the culminating point of the department of Herault on the commune of Cambon and Salvergues (Mount of Espinouse, 1126m). Demography
