Canton of Morez
The canton of Morez is a French administrative division , located in the department of the the Jura and the area Franche-Comté.
Composition
The canton includes/understands the 9 following communes:
- Bellefontaine
- Wood-in Amont
- Lézat
- Longchaumois
- Morbier
- Morez
- Damping
- Prémanon
- Russet-red the
History
Until January 1st 2007, the canton of Morez counted 10 communes. On this date, the commune of Tancua was removed and attached to that of Morbier.
Economy
The valley of Morez is well-known for the Lunetterie. Many companies are found there which begin in the production or the completion of the optical products.
