Geography

This canton is organized around Dieuze in the Arrondissement Castle-Saline. Its altitude varies from 199 m (Saint M3edard's Day) to 346 m (Lidrezing) for an average altitude of 221 Mr.

History

It is an old canton of the department of the Meurthe. It was annexed in its totality by Germany in 1871, in accordance with the Traité of Frankfurt. It was integrated into the department of the Moselle in 1918.
