Canton of Boën

The canton of Boën is a administrative division French located in the department of the the Loire and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Geography

This canton is organized around Boën in the Arrondissement of Montbrison. Its altitude varies from 327 m (Holy-Foy-Saint-Sulpice) to 895 m (Saint-Laurent-Rochefort) for an average altitude of 446 Mr.

History

Administration

Lucien Mouiller is also mayor PRG of the town of Boën. He was presented in the form of a parliamentary candidate for XIIIe legislature in 2007 on the 7th district. He obtained more than 22%, a beautiful score for a left-wing candidate in a district which, politically, is on the right of the political chessboard. However, it could not reach a second turn because the outgoing deputy UMP, Jean-François Chossy was re-elected as of the first turn with a little more than 51,9% of the voices.

However at the time of this election, its work on its own commune, Boën, was rewarded by its voters, it obtained more than 45,74% of the voices compared with 36,57% for Mr Chossy.
