History
The demicanton of Basle-City exists only since 1833, before, and at the time of its entry in the Confederation in 1501, it formed part with Basle-Countryside Canton of Basle.

The canton of Basle-City is the smallest canton of Switzerland. It is at the border with the France and the Germany and is crossed by the the Rhine.
