Canton of Appenzell

The canton of Appenzell is old a Swiss Canton, member of the Swiss Confédération since 1513, which separated into two demicantons in 1597 for religious reasons: Appenzell Rhodos-Interior (left catholic) and Appenzell Rhodos-External (left Protestant).
