Canon (cellular automat)

In a cellular Automat, a gun ( gun in the anglophone literature) is a reason finished of which the principal part is repeated periodically, like an oscillating , and who emits vessels with regular interval.

Period

Two periods are to be taken into account:
  • at which time the vessels are emitted;
  • the period of the gun in itself.

The period of the gun is inevitably a multiple of the period of emission of the vessels. If these two periods are different, the gun is called a gun with pseudo-period ( pseudoperiod gun in English).

Examples

In the Play of the life, it is possible to build any emitting gun of the sailplanes with one period of 14 iterations or more.
