Canisy mount
The Canisy mount is one of the works of the Atlantic Wall. Its construction was started in 1943. It overhangs Blonville-sur-Mer close to Deauville. Left with half with the vegetation, the site is made very pleasant. One can enter many bunkers.
There is about fifty fortifications:
- a bunker of command.
- about thirty small individual stations of combat strengthened of type tobrouk.
- two bunkers with 2 and 3 loopholes.
- three bunkers equipped in the beginning with guns with 150 mm having their shotfiring cable on Le Havre.
- a long trench which one can still traverse.
The batteries of the Canisy mount were pointed on the port of the Havre. They (or fortunately) very useful during the unloading because very quickly were unfortunately not neutralized.
