Candyman
Candyman is a American Film of horror of 1992 carried out by Bernard Pink and inspired of the news The Forbidden written by the famous author and British realizer Clive Barker.
One finds in the main roles Virginia Madsen, Tony Todd and Xander Berkeley.
Synopsis
Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) is coed at the university from Illinois to Chicago and married to a professor, Trevor (Jean-Louis in the French version). With his/her friend Bernadette, they write a thesis on the urban Légendes and the popular Croyance S. During its investigations, it is challenged by a recurring history, that of mythical Candyman which terrorizes the inhabitants of the disadvantaged district of Cabrini Green since decades, assassinating women and children mainly. Helen feeling there that it holds the occasion dreamed to spice its work, convinces Bernadette to go to inquire into the same spot of the crimes, in the sordid city of Cabrini Green, a black ghetto delivered to the gangs and misery.
They go to the apartment of the last victim in date, persuaded that in fact of phantom, the murderer is introduced into the apartments thanks to a design defect allowing the communication between the bathrooms by a passage located behind the mirrors. On the spot, Helen discovers an apartment left with the abandonment and covered with strange and worrying Graffiti S. They become acquainted then with the Anne-Marie neighbor who raises only her baby and agrees to say to them what it knows.
Later during a dinner in company of an eminent colleague of her husband who works on the same subjects, she learns the true story from this Candyman.
Daniel Robitaille was a son of Esclave whose parent had succeeded in making fortune thanks to the patent of a machine manufacture shoes. Daniel attended best the schools and received best possible education. Very gifted artistically, it started to earn its living by portrayant rich person silent partners. Thus in 1890 it was elected by a rich person landowner ordering a painting of his/her still virgin daughter to him. Daniel and his model tied a idylle and the young heiress fell pregnant.
