Canaima national park
The national park Canaima or Parque nacional Canaima is located in the solid mass of the Plateaux of Guyana, with the Venezuela in the State de Bolívar. It was founded in 1962 and was declared Patrimoine of Humanity by UNESCO in 1994.
It extends on 30.000 km ² (surface equivalent to that of the Belgium), to the border of the Brésil and the Guyana. nearly 65% of its surface is occupied by rock plates called Tepuy S . Those constitute a completely single ecosystem in the world. The geological composition of these tepuys is of also great scientific interest. Their escarpés edges, and their water falls form single landscapes. The famous Salto Angel, which is the highest water fall of the world in fact part.
