Canadian law on health

The Canadian law on health is a federal legislation Canadian, adopted in 1984, which registers the conditions and the criteria to which the provinces and the territories must conform to receive the totality of the sum of transfer payments negotiated concerning to the medical services .

The legislation encourages the provinces to maintain the plans of insurance of public health for their residents and discourages the use of extra-invoicing and the royalties by user in the delivery of medical departments. The goal and the effect of the act are to maintain the national standards for the public delivery of health care.

Since the judgment obtained by Dr. Jacques Chaoulli, the monopoly of the insurance health is called in question in certain provinces which practiced it up to now (the such Quebec).
