Canadian association of the family ataxias

The Canadian Association of the family ataxias - Foundation Claude Midsummer's Day is founded in 1972.

The goals of Association are:

  • To group in association the people who are reached of family Ataxie and of the people who are implied on the personal level by the support or on the professional level via the care or research.

  • To sensitize the political health professionals, decision makers and the population in general with the disease like her impacts on physical and psychological health, the employment and the financial aspects of the people reached.

  • To promote, protect and develop the economic interests, social, professional and of leisures of the ataxic people.

  • To advance research on the family ataxias in order to intervene as well on the causes as on the effects.

  • To inform the members and the partners of the activities relating to the family ataxias (research, publications, activities, etc) by publishing a review.

  • To organize and hold of the conferences, meetings, exposures for ends of information.

  • To generate incomes by the means of lifting campaign of funds, activities, voluntary subscriptions, requests for subsidy, mixed liability companies, and of testamentary legacies, in order to carry out the mission of Association.
