Canadian Museum of Civilizations
The Canadian Musée of civilizations , located at Gatineau is the greatest cultural establishment of the Canada. With its 1,3 million visitors, it is also the Canadian Musée more visited. Its Architecture made curved lines represents, amongst other things, the force of the Vent.
The mission of the museum: To present the history of Canadian humanity.
Contents of the museum
Inside the various showrooms, one finds:
- the Large Gallery , which gathers the vastest interior exposure of Totem to the world, and the Room of the First People, a traditional exposition with the first inhabitants of Canada;
- the Salle of Canada revives to us 1.000 years of history through various reconstitutions of historical places;
- the Canadian Musée of the Children revives a great voyage, passport with the hand, in an international village; various activities and animations are offered for the children;
- the Canadian Musée of the Post office illustrates the history of the Canadian postal service, of the beginning of the Colonisation, with new technologies;
- the Cinéma Imax presents several films annually.
Moreover, the museum shelters exposures on various subjects such as for example on Petra, the Dead Sea, Maurice Richard and the Sport S. the neighborhoods of the museum are worth also the turning for the splendid sight on the buildings of the Parlement of Ottawa.
