Camptosaurus

Camptosaurus (or “twisted lizard”) was one of Dinosaure S of Ornithischien S, sub-order of the Ornithopode S and of the Iguanodontidé S. It measured up to 6 m, weighed approximately 500 kg and lived with the Jurassic higher and the lower Crétacé (there is approximately -160 with -140  million years), in England, France and with the the United States.

Camptosaurus could be easily nourished with the Végétaux coriaces which led with the Jurassic superior and the lower Cretaceous. Its jaw lower hoped many ideal lines of Dent S rough to crush and shred the vegetation.

It was a rather massive animal, because it had a large stomach to digest the enormous quantity of sheets, roots and branches which it ate. It had long robust posterior legs, rather short forefeet and it went drawn up on its posterior legs, because its forefeet were not enough robust to go, but the bones of its wrists could support its weight. It could thus lean and be pressed on its forefeet a few moments to eat plants pushing with short-nap cloth of the ground. It was also drawn up on its posterior legs to crunch the juicy growths with the summit of the trees. Its long very heavy tail was then used to him to balance. Its only means of defense was the escape.

Its back, in addition, was maintained by osséifiés tendon S.
