the mysterious Island is a novel of Jules Verne published in 1874. Just as the Children of the captain Grant , it constitutes one following Twenty thousand miles under the seas , with in particular the reappearance of the Capitaine Nemo.

The intrigue

the mysterious Island tells the history of five characters: engineer Cyrus Smith, his Nab servant, the journalist Gédéon Spilett, the Pencroff sailor and the Harbert teenager. To escape the seat from Richmond during the American Civil War, they decide to flee using a balloon, but fail on a deserted island which they will baptize the Lincoln island. After having carried out an exploration of the island, they settle there as colonists…
