Campbon

Campbon (Kambon in Breton) is a common French, located in the department of the Loire-Atlantique and the area Pays of the Loire.

Its inhabitants is called Campbonais and Campbonaises' .

Geography

  • Campbon is located at 36 km in the east of Saint-Nazaire, 46 km in the west of Nantes and 72 km in the south-east of Vannes.

History

  • Campbon comes from the word " cambodonum" , height strengthened into Gallic.

  • Parish dedicated to Victor saint who was born to with it at the 6th century and whose hermitage was destroyed by the invasions Normans at the 9th century.
  • Châtellenie of Coislin set up in marquisat then in duchy.
