Camp-the-source

Camp-the-Source is a common Frenchwoman in the department of the Var (Région Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure).

Geographical location

Neighbor of Brignoles, the village lies with the foot of a Coteau, with the bottom of which is born a formerly called source Fons de Campis.

The village is located at 5 km in the south-west of Brignoles by the D12 or the D554 and 6 km of a8 highway.

Economy and Natural resources

Formerly

Many the source S of water natural allowed:
  • the factory of the Chapeau X of felts
  • the production of Soda S by the company Vittel
  • the activity of the village was mainly centered on cereal agriculture and the vine growing.

Currently

The inhabitants are called " Campsois" and " Campsoises".

Except a remainder of agriculture, and although having lost its wine character, the construction of habitats dormitories became the economic main activity of the village strongly encouraged by the municipality since 2002 passer by of POS in RAINED. This village which had a certain charm is in fact quickly become a village dormitory.

Practicable leisures on the commune:

  • Équitation there exist 2 ranches including 1 horse-gear for children.
  • Tennis
  • Ground of foot closed to keys, nonaccessible without communal agreement.
  • Swimming with Brignoles.
  • Excursion S with Holy Quinis and the Lac of Besse on Insulates.
  • Game of bowls with the ABC (Association of the Campsoises Balls in partnership with the bar of the village for the competitions, difficulty!).
  • Festival of sweet chestnut and the wine on October 25th
The old viticultural cooperative wine cave, recently repurchased by the Commune, will be transformed into museum of the wine which will become a new useless economic load.

Historical inheritance and Vestiges

Structure

The architecture of many old women residences presents keystone dated. The old factory with its round door of medieval style is the last vestige of the work of the felt.

Other remarkable buildings:

  • the church and its Bell-tower
  • the Vault S Saint Martin's day and Saint-Sebastien
