Camille the Draper of Erm

Camille the Draper of Erm born with Rennes in 1888 and died with Dinard in 1978, of its name neo-bardic Kammermor , of its Breton name Kamil Ar Merser 'Erm , is a poet in French language, historian and Breton nationalist, great-grandson of an officer chouan.

He is installed in Paris when he publishes in 1909 his poetic collections, the same year in the Revue West , he writes an article which creates sensation: “Traditionalism and separatism”. Founder of the Breton nationalist Left in 1911, it plays a paramount role near the young Bretons militants of between two wars. He is one of the most talented poets Breton of French language. He founds also the newspaper of combat Breiz Dishual ( free Brittany ): its work of poet and historian is marked by the nationalist claim and the call to the revolt.

It launches the newspaper libertarian Brittany in 1921, with an article “the Breton Nation and the International one”. In 1941 at the time of the thirtieth birthday of the Breton nationalist Left, the Breton national Parti (different organization) returns to a vibrating homage to Camille the Draper of Erm, pioneer of Breton nationalism.

It has two grandsons: Jean-Pierre and Loïck Camus, whose Loïck Camus is member of the Breton Souvenir.
