Camille Mauclair

Camille Mauclair , of its true name Severin Faust , born with Paris the December 29th 1872 and died in the same city the April 23rd 1945 is a Romance poet, cier and Critique French.

Disciple of MALLARME, and among the best historians of Symbolism, It collaborates in reviews such as the Conch, the independent Revue, the Revue of Paris and Saint-Pétersbourg, the white Revue, the Mercure de France, the red Coq, the Essais of free art, the political Entretiens and arts persons, the Modern art, the Hermitage, the new Société, the Image, the Nouvelle review, the encyclopedic Revue, the Grande review, the Revue reviews , and for newspapers such as Estafette, the Event, Gil Blas, the Rosette, Le Figaro, the Dawn and the Dispatch of Toulouse. He also collaborates in the anarchistic press . Its work is regarded today as minor and tag-along of the literary currents of his time to which it brings nevertheless an invaluable lighting. With Aurélien Lugné-Poë, it founds the Théâtre of Work.

Van Bever and Léautaud, in their anthology Poètes of today (1900) allot a Semitic origin to him, while Gerard Jean-Aubry (1905) stopped at catholic and Lorraine origins (with a Danish ascent). In any event it was antidreyfusard only by fidelity with Clemenceau. It was also shown to have been a collaborator of the Vichy government, (the crisis of the Modern art -1944), of 1940 to 1944, (collaborator still in 1944 with the review " Large illustrated Magazine of the Race: Revivre" , he escaped purification, his occurring death, but was registered by the CNE in his list of the " authors; interdits".
