Camille Doncieux

Camille Doncieux (born in 1847 and deceased the September 5th 1879 with Vétheuil) was the first woman of the painter Claude Monet. She was used as model with her husband on several occasions.

Camille Doncieux and Claude Monet marry in 1870. Five years only after, the couple discovers that it is reached cancer. The couple has two children: Jean, born in 1867 and Michel, born in 1878. The birth of the last weakens still more Camille Doncieux: she dies on September 5th, 1879, at the 32 years age. Monet carried out a painting of his wife on her bed of death.
