The mole (symbol: mol ) is a basic Unité of the international system, appeared in 1972, which is mainly used in Physique and Chimie. A mole of atoms contains approximately 6,022×1023 atoms (a more correct approximation would be 6,02214179 (30) ×1023). This number is called Nombre of Avogadro, its symbol is NA. This number is the number of atoms present in exactly 12 G of 12C.
The mole corresponds to the Quantité of matter of a system containing as many individual particles than there are atoms in 12 G of Carbone 12C.
Formulated in a more comprehensible way, the mole is a unit of counting as well as the " vingtaine" or the " douzaine". Same manner, that there are as many elements in a dozen apples than in a dozen eggs, there is the same number of atoms in a mole of carbon as in a mole of lead.
A normal matter sample contains a very great number of Atome S. For example, 6 gram of aluminum contains approximately 1,1 × 1022 atoms (: 11 000.000.000 000.000.000 000 atoms). To avoid the use of also great numbers, one created a measuring unit, the mole.
