Camberwell

Camberwell is a district of London in the district of Southwark.

It is a district which is a small town, with 2,7 miles (4,3 km) in the south-east of Charing Cross. In the west, Camberwell is bordered by the district of Lambeth. It is a rather poor district of the south of London, whose population comes in majority from the Antilles, Jamaica and Africa. Many students are also attracted by the rents relatively low and the school of Art of Camberwell. There are also in this district a large hospital complex (King' S College Hospital) and a psychiatric hospital (Maudsley Hospital). Like its neighbor of the south, Brixton, was it 20 years ago, it is a district in full change.
