Camargo Guarnieri
Camargo Guarnieri (1907 - 1993) studies the Piano and the composition with the Conservatório of São Paulo and improves thereafter near Charles Koechlin with Paris. Some of the compositions of Guarnieri gain important prices in the United States during the Forties, giving the opportunity to him to direct them to New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Eminent figure of the Brazilian national school, it provides various functions: leader of São Paulo, member of the Academia Brasileira de Música, and director of Conservatório de São Paulo, teaching there the composition and the direction of orchestra. Its work includes/understands Symphonie S, Concerto S, Cantate S, a Op3era Comique, Chamber music, several parts for piano, and about fifty canções.
