Calypso bandaged

Banda Calypso was created with Belem in 1999, by the couple Joelma (voice and choreography) and Chimbinha (guitar). To its beginnings, its notoriety was limited to the musical circuit in the north and the North-East of Brazil. The group, in 2005, was considerably more known in all the country and started to make career abroad.

Musical style

The " Calypso" bandaged; is famous in Brazil for its music Calypso, an original rate/rhythm of the south of the the Caribbean, adapted to the regional rates/rhythms of the Pará. The observers consider that the Ska also largely influenced works of the group. In a great part of their musical work, one finds a mixture of various styles, reflecting the many musical influences of the group. Brega. Note: incompetent to translate this last ~~~~ term -->

Although the caribéennes influences of the group are undeniable, the musical family of Banda Calypso remains the brega.
