The family of the Calycanthacées is a family of plants angiospermes of old divergence, which includes/understands a half-dozaine Espèce S divided into 3 or 4 kind S:
- Calycanthus , Chimonanthus , Sinocalycanthus (+ Idiospermum )
They are small trees or oil producing shrubs essential of the areas moderated with subtropical of the Far East and North America.
One finds in this family of the decorative plants cultivated for their odorous flowers.
The phylogenetic classification incorporates in it Idiospermum australiense , a tree, with persistent sheets, essential oils, aromatic, tropical areas of Australia. In traditional Classification this species was the only one representing Idiospermacées.
