Calville

Caleville or Calville is the name of a group of Cultivar S of Pommier S with more or less lengthened corded fruits.

As of 1628, it is quoted by Lectier, prosecutor of the king Louis XIII, which had three different Calleville:

  • the white Calville,
  • the red Calville (or red Calville of winter, Calville of winter or red Calvin)
  • and the clear Calville.

Today, one finds inter alia:

  • Calville Alexandre
  • Calville of August
  • Calville d' Oullins
  • Calville Duquesne
  • Calville Lombard
  • Calville of the King
  • Calville Saint-Saver
