Calmira

A great number of people still using Windows 3.1 were disappointed by its manager of programs, but did not find paradoxically an other interface concurrent, even paying.

Erwin Dokter created then Calmira , a Graphical interface imitating the style of Windows 95 which it distributed free on Internet.

This graphical interface is very much used by the users of Windows 3.1 whose computer is not enough powerful to use Windows 95, or who do not have or do not wish to install this operating system.

To use programs Windows 95, the users can always use Win32.

A new version of Calmira recently was born. It is about CalmiraXP, which imitates graphics of Windows XP.

Calmira is distributed under the terms of the license GNU LPG.

History of Calmira

Already in 1995 Li-Hsin Huang started to develop of original Calmira. The first version (Calmira 1.0) was published in 1997. In 1998 did Li-Hsing publish its last version (Calmira 2.0) and it finished the development of sound (or of its?) Calmira. Fortunately, in same year Erwin Dokter created Calmira TEAM which continued to develop of Calmira. Their Calmira is called Calmira II and its first version was Calmira II 3.0. The newest version of Calmira II is Calmira II 3.3.
