Callejón

In a Arena, the callejón indicates the circular Couloir separating the barrier from the steps.

Presentation

The callejón is used as service road and lane around the track (Ruedo). It is used by the employees of the arenas, the bullfighters and the photographers. Its access is not allowed to the spectators.

The callejón can be used as shelters to the bullfighters in the event of uncontrolled load of the bull. If the Burladero is not easily accessible, the latter can jump in the callejón over the barrier.

The barrier ( will bar ) is the wood belt which separates the track from the callejón. The term indicates also the first rank of the steps.
