Caliciform with mucus
Histology
Also called " mucous cells with open pole " , the caliciform cells are dispersed in certain epithelium S of coating and ensure the lubrication of those by Sécrétion of Mucus.
Their shape out of chalice is characteristic: the basal pole is narrow, it rests on the basal Lame and contains the Noyau driven back and deformed; the apical pole is widened.
Observed in electronic microscopy, these cells present an accumulation of grains Mucigènes which confluent in bulky masses evacuated by fusion of their membrane with the plasmic Membrane. The opening of these enormous masses gives to the apical pole of the cell the open aspect in microscopy Optique.
The Mucus results from the hydration of the mucigen at the time of the Excrétion.
Other cells take part in the synthesis of Mucus such as: the Mucous cells with closed pole or the mucous cells has closed pole of type Mucoïde.
