Caleu
Geographical location
Chilean locality located has 68 kilometers in the North-West of Santiago of Chile, in the commune of Til Til making in its turn left the Región Metropolitana of Santiago, province of Chacabuco. The locality is made up various hamlets: Capilla, Lo Marín, Espinallillo.
Interest
Caleu is located in the mountainous cord of the Cordillera of the Coast, facing the Andes cordillera. The valley of Caleu, very green and rich person of fauna and the flora of central valley of Chile, are dominated by the mountain El Roble, meaning the oak, the second top of all the Cordillera of the Coast (2.204 meters). Its name comes from the forest of oak (Nothofagus obliqued mavcrocarpa variety) which papers its high slopes. Its Western slope forms part left the national park Campana.El Roble is an exceptional point of view on the Pacific Ocean and the Andes cordillera and particularly the Aconcagua, culminating point of the southern hemisphere has 6959 meters, located in Argentine, with thirteen kilometers of the border of the Chile.
Personality
The former president, Ricardo Lagos, has his second residence with Caleu, in the hamlet Lo Marín, which made a certain publicity with the locality.
