Cajeput

The cajeput ( Melaleuca cajuputi ) is a Plante pushing in a wild state in the Far East, Indonesia and Australia. It belongs to the kind Melaleuca and to the family of the Myrtaceae , family of trees and plants useful in aromathérapie. The cajeput is close to the Arbre to the and the Niaouli, but it is simpler to use, because one obtains a rather soft essential oil from it.

This oil is obtained by distillation with the steam of sheets and brushwood of the Melaleuca cajuputi .

The essential oil of cajeput is a general Antiseptique: it is different from other oils from its softness. Diluted in an plant oil, it is used in friction, on the back and the thorax, the abdomen or of the painful zones. In inhalation, the oil of cajeput alleviates the respiratory disorders.

It is also used in perfumery.
