Cajarc
Cajarc is a common French, located in the department of the Lot and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

Located in a Calcareous circus of cliffs S.
The pilgrimage of Compostelle
It was certainly a relay very attended by the pilgrims of Saint-Jacob. A hospital existed already in 1269, there is quoted many times in the texts.
A bridge was built on the Lot in 1320 for the passage of the pilgrims.
History
Its Seigneur S built Prieuré S and protected the population during the One hundred Year old Guerre. Also one by “Hébrardie indicates” the area around the valley of the That.
A long time residence of the bishop S of Cahors.
Cajarc, just like Figeac, chose the Reform and was dismantled by Louis XIII.

This old small town, pleasant vacation center, preserves many old picturesque houses and the ruins of a Château of the 13th century; port of shipping, its Chapelle Holy-Marguerite was a place of pilgrimage of the marines.The vault of the Madeleine, known as Capelette de Cajarc, goes back to the 12th century, it depended on a leper-house which gave also hospitality to the travellers before the crossing of the Causse.
The church, often altered, goes back to the 13th century, just as “the house of Gothic Hébrardie” to the windows S, vestige of the castle of the powerful family of Hébrard de Saint-Sulpice.
Near the borough, one can see a 25 height m cascade, called Caougne; in the cliff circus, one sees, in north, the “Rock of Tale” and with hillside the “castle of the English. ”
Upstream of the city, with the “Jump of Mounine”, point of view on the valley and meanders of the Batch.

- Francoise Sagan, to the civilian Francoise Quoirez born the June 21st 1935 with Cajarc, and dead the September 24th 2004 at the hospital of Honfleur (Apple-brandy) of a pulmonary Embolism, is a écrivaine.
