Cajamarca

Cajamarca is a city located on the high plateaus of the north of the Peru, and is the capital of the department of the same name. The town of Cajamarca has a population of 153,466 inhabitants. (census 2005)

Atahualpa, having noted that Spanish was attracted by gold, proposed in Francisco Pizarro to fill and a money gold coin (el cuarto LED rescate = the room of the ransom) in exchange of its release. Atahualpa held its word but Pizarro refused to release it and made it carry out.
